Ein Bild sagt mehr als Worte . . .
Der Erfolg eines guten Bildes liegt aber nicht immer nur im Festhalten eines bestimmten Momentes.
Meist ist eine weitsichtige Planung die Grundlage für den Erfolg einer Bildsequenz.
Besonders wenn man mit Tieren arbeitet, ist eine Balance zwischen beiden Faktoren unabdingbar.

Seit meinem fünfzehnten Lebensjahr tauche ich in diese Welt ein - bis heute.
Die Faszination wurde mit jeder Herausforderung grösser.
Die Welt ist schnelllebiger geworden - auch in der Fotografie.
Wartete man früher tagelang voller Spannung auf die Abzüge aus dem Labor,
so ist das fertige Ergebnis heute nur einen Mausklick entfernt.
Die digitale Fotografie hat die Welt verändert - doch die Faszination ist geblieben.

In meinem Beruf als Werbekaufmann hatte ich immer mit Bildern zu tun. Mit guten wie mit schlechten.
Doch wer entscheidet, was ein gutes oder ein schlechtes Bild ist ?
Ist es der Art Director einer Werbeagentur, der Firmenchef eines Unternehmens, der Redakteur einer Zeitschrift ?
Nein, jeder entscheidet für sich selbst, welches Bild er mag, und welches ihm nichts sagt.
Und genau diese Vielfalt an Entscheidungen ermöglicht es dem Fotografen, seinen Stil,
seine Sichtweise der Dinge, in die Waagschale zu werfen.

Zur Zeit leben meine Frau und ich mit Scottish Terriern, doch auch Pferde sind seit Jahrzehnten unsere grosse
Leidenschaft. Als unsere ständigen Begleiter stehen unsere Scotties im Zentrum unseres Alltags
und somit regelmässig vor der Kamera. Eine enge Beziehung und Vertrautheit bilden die Grundlage
für eine entspannte und kreative Zusammenarbeit mit dem Partner Hund.
So entstehen einzigartige Aufnahmen, die die ganze Vielfalt des Wesens eines Tieres zu zeigen vermögen.

Ich stelle Ihnen in meinen Galerien die Arbeit der letzten Jahre vor.
Ich verzichte bewusst darauf, aus alten Archiven analoge Aufnahmen hervorzuholen und digital aufzubereiten.

Split seconds are captured for eternity. Something special happens. A picture says more than words can ever do.
The success of a good photo doesn´t just depend on capturing that special moment.
Often detailed planning is necessary for the photos you want - especially if you work with animals.

I have been experimenting with the world of photography since I was a boy of fifteen - and have continued to this day.
The fascination has increased with every new challenge. The world moves at a dizzying speed - even in photography.
Once, you had to wait several days before you could see your photos when they came back from the lab;
nowadays the result is only a mouseclick away.
Digital photography has changed the world - the fascination has remained the same.

In my job as an advertising salesman, I had to work with hundreds of pictures.
Some were excellent, some were good, others were poor quality. But who decides what makes a good photo?
Is it the art director of an advertising agency, the owner of a company, or the publisher of a magazine?
They all have an opinion as to which photo they like, and which doesn’t do anything for them.
And this is where the right photographer comes in.

At the moment, my wife and I share our lives with Scottish Terriers. We are both devoted to dogs and horses
and these animals have been our great passion for decades.
Being our constant companions, the Scotties are at the heart of our lives, and frequently also in front of the camera.
A strong relationship, love and trust are the basics for a relaxed and creative partnership between us and our dogs.
Very special shots, which show the amazing variety in an animal’s character, are created that way.
